The material enquiry

The right specification comes first.

WCR advertises building sand alongside its aggregate delivery options. Building sand is commonly selected for specified mortar and masonry applications. Send the intended use, any grading or colour requirements, the quantity and your full postcode to discuss a suitable delivery.

Photos on this page show WCR vehicles and material handling. They do not certify a particular product grade. Confirm the description, quantity and availability in your quotation.

01 / Plan the delivery

Match the sand to the mortar requirements

A mortar specification can depend on the masonry, exposure and the products being used. Ask your contractor or designer to confirm the sand and mix requirements. WCR can discuss the material description being quoted, without assuming that every sand is interchangeable.

02 / Plan the delivery

Discuss colour and consistency before ordering

Where appearance matters, tell the team about the required finish and any existing work you are matching. Colour, grading and current supply must be confirmed for the quotation. A photograph of yellow sand does not establish that it matches a particular mortar or batch.

03 / Plan the delivery

Plan quantity and clean storage

Use the quantity specified for your job and state the units clearly. Choose a placement area that keeps sand away from soil, rubble and other grades. Share access photos and preferred timing so the delivery method and arrangements can be agreed.

Before ordering

Building Sand questions.

Use the material description and your project specification to agree the order.

Can building sand replace sharp sand?

Only if the person specifying your application confirms the substitution. Check the actual grading and intended use rather than relying on the material name.

Can I request a particular colour?

Include the colour or matching requirement in your enquiry. WCR must confirm the material currently available and the description included in your quote.
