Any excavation, groundwork or landscaping job in Essex produces spoil — and that soil, clay and hardcore has to go somewhere legal. That's muck away. Here's how it works and what to look for in a contractor.
What is muck away?
Muck away is the removal and licensed disposal of excavated material from your site — typically soil, clay, hardcore and inert construction waste. We load it with our grab or tipper lorries and take it to a licensed facility, recycling wherever possible.
Regulations you need to know
Excavated waste must be moved by an Environment Agency registered carrier with a waste transfer note for every load. We're fully registered and provide electronic transfer notes as standard.
Grab or tipper?
For tight-access or roadside sites, our 16-tonne grab lorries load over obstacles. For large open sites moving big volumes, our 20-tonne 8-wheel tippers are the most cost-effective.
