The material enquiry

The right specification comes first.

MOT Type 1 is commonly specified for compacted sub-bases beneath driveways, paving and other construction layers. WCR advertises Type 1 supply across Essex and East London. Send the exact specification from your builder or designer and the site postcode so the quoted material and delivery can be checked.

Photos on this page show WCR vehicles and material handling. They do not certify a particular product grade. Confirm the description, quantity and availability in your quotation.

01 / Plan the delivery

Start with the sub-base specification

The name Type 1 describes a material specification, not every pile of crushed stone. Tell WCR whether your project requires a particular primary or recycled material, and share any grading or compliance requirements. Do not assume that a photograph, a recycled origin or a different fill description confirms the same specification.

02 / Plan the delivery

Measure the layer you are building

Measure the length, width and specified finished depth in metres to estimate the layer volume. Say whether the depth is before or after compaction. The order quantity also depends on the material and the construction plan; WCR can discuss the delivery quantity once the requirements are clear.

03 / Plan the delivery

Keep the delivery separate and accessible

Show the entrance and a firm placement area where the material can remain separate from excavated soil or other aggregates. Mention parked vehicles, walls, overhead obstructions and access times. Grab placement or tipping needs to be agreed for your site before booking.

Before ordering

MOT Type 1 questions.

Use the material description and your project specification to agree the order.

Is all crushed concrete MOT Type 1?

No. A recycled origin or a crushed-concrete description does not by itself establish the required Type 1 grading or compliance. Send the specification and ask WCR to confirm the material being quoted.

Can you confirm today's price and availability?

Contact WCR with your postcode, specification and quantity. Material availability, delivery method and the full quotation are confirmed for the actual enquiry.
